Körüz Biz (We are blind) was established in 2014 as an online network. In the following years, it became a legal entity under the name "Engelli Kültürünü ve Toplumsal Bilinci Geliştirme Derneği" (Association For Development Of Disability Culture And Social Awareness) with the short name "Körüz Biz".
OUR MISSION
The purpose of the Körüz.biz platform is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge related to blind living, enabling people to learn by reading before experiencing or encountering such situations. Our association's primary goal is to support independent blind living and to develop projects aimed at raising awareness about disabilities and disability identity across broader communities.
OUR APPROACH<&b>
We are committed to everything that contributes to an egalitarian, inclusive, non-marginalizing and anti-ableist, rights-based approach to blind living and disability culture. We develop projects and organize events to ensure that people with disabilities have equal rights with all members of society and to eliminate all forms of discriminatory practices and discourses.
ACCESSIBILITY
We provide our content in a way that offers equal access to three different visual profiles "under the same design framework and simultaneously." Instead of using often inadequate solutions like "Zoom In/Out," we create customizable options based on individual preferences and usage habits, aiming to offer reading ease for everyone while being mindful of sensory diversity.
